"Go-Juice" at work

Is it a little strange that my workplace offers me free access to a mild stimulant? Probably not, but that is the question that came to mind just a few minutes ago in the middle of my morning coffee buzz. This is my first job where I have had free access to coffee and I definitely feel the positive (working faster) and negative (afternoon caffeine drop) effects of this. In my previous workplaces I drank about a cup of coffee every couple days, but now with free coffee I drink 2 strong cups of coffee every morning. I wonder if my employer knows the effect free coffee has on my job performance. Probably not, they are probably just being nice.

I'm not trying to compare myself to members of the US Air Force who are "encouraged" to take "go-pills" or amphetamines before long flights and combat missions. To me that seems like a clearly bad idea given the side effects of amphetamines, but the US military defends their use, claiming there have never been any accidents attributed to their use, but that there have been countless accidents attributed to fatigue.
