Cheney nearly kills again

A couple years ago I wrote a pretty sensational headline to an entry about Dick Cheney's "hunting" vacation in which he killed 70 pheasents in one day. Well, Dick Cheney nearly added a human to his death list. Hunting accidents aren't funny, and I know that Cheney didn't do it on purpose, but I just can't help but write about it. I would also feel derilict in my duties if I didn't make some crack like "Guns don't kill people, Vice Presidents do." There, I said it.

Better check your facts little one. It was Harry Whittington, a millionaire attorney - injured - NOT killed.

Leave it to a liberal to lie to the American people!

What part of "Dick Cheney --nearly-- addd a human . . ." don't you understand. I also titled the my post "Cheney --Nearly-- Kills Agian". Leave it to a "conservative" to not actually read what I wrote and overreact.

I almost drove off the road when I heard the story on NPR the other day. I'm glad you find it incredibly amusing as well !

Here is another good one for the "conservatives" in the audience:

Seems Dick Cheney was hunting with a permit without the proper authorization to shoot "upland game birds". This violation of the law resulted in the issuing of a warning. That is fine by me because I figure that it is probably a common mistake and according the report, the standard procedure for such an incident.

There's more information on that here:

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse from the law. You'd think he'd have a staff to do stuff like this for him.

Where did all the shot birds go ? To feed the Hurricane Katrina homeless people ? I would hope that the food was plenty for the needy. This a more of a question, not a comment, but maybe someone knows the facts of the dead birds. If the birds were fed to the needy, than that was a benefit. But if the well fed kept the birds to eat for themselves, than that would be pretty selfish, for that many birds killed.
