Updated: how I learned to stop worrying and love Windows XP

As many of you know I have been a Mac user since around 1990 and up until the last few months I was a big fan of Macintosh and everything Apple does. That has now changed. I have decided to switch from Apple to Windows XP. Here are just a few of the reasons why:

  • Mac's are just to small: Sure the Mac Mini is a the lowest priced Macintosh ever, but it's just so small. I can buy a much larger Dell for the same price.
  • The iPod isn't that great: I'm mad that my three year old iPod can't do all the same things that a brand new iPod Photo can do. So I'm going out and buying a Creative Zen Micro 6GB.
  • Where is my Powerbook G5?: I've been considering buying a new Mac laptop for the last few months and I am really mad that Apple hasn't accommodated my need for a G5 in a laptop. How dare they hold out on a product that I want!
  • 1 Button Mouse: I am sick and tired of having to use a one button mouse. I just got so used to using a 2 button mouse at work on my Windows XP computer at work that I can't go back. Sure I could buy a 2 button mouse for my Mac and it would work just fine, but I want my computer to come with a 2 button mouse.

I hope that everyone can understand my decision to stop using Macintosh. By the way, I'm looking for good recommendations for a Windows laptop. I would like it to have a 15 inch widescreen display, an 80 GB hard drive, Gigabit Ethernet, Firewire 400 and 800, DVD burner, built in 802.11G and Bluetooth 2.0. Also, I would like it if it was only about 1 inch thick. Any recommendations?

Update:As I am sure most of you guessed, this was an April Fool's Day joke. For posterity's sake I have included links to a few images below:

welcome to the dark side... er... well, i guess mac would be the dark side... but anyway, congrats on the big choice. i've maintained for some time now that the choice between windows and mac really comes down to personal preference.

You so funny. I realized (without clicking) the "recommendations" went to Apple. I was concerned. I'm still in a split world, but the company is moving to Dell, Dell, Dell. haven't installed a new Mac since the 12" PB G4 came out.

Oh well, at least I have a job.

Say hi to Meg.
