Thanks to Atrios I got to see this nice little piece of legislation from the religious right in Congress. [reference]
Basically, what Sen. Zell Miller and his ilk want to do is eliminate Supreme Court (SCOTUS) oversite of any law relating to god or religion. Also, it would only allow Supreme Court decisions to be based on the Constitution and english common law.
The good news is that crap legislation like this dies every day. I'm still going to keep an eye on this one just in case.
